David Yarrow
David Yarrow: Conservationist and author, is considered a worldwide best-selling photographer who has raised millions for charity.
Photographer, conservationist, and author. Yarrow was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1966, and took up photography at an early age. At only 20 years old, he was named Young Scottish Photographer of the Year while still enrolled at Edinburgh University. In the same year, the artist found himself working as a photographer for The London Times on the pitch at the World Cup Final in Mexico City, where he took the iconic image of Diego Maradona holding the World Cup trophy in Mexico.
Although, following his graduation, Yarrow spent nearly a decade working as an institutional stockbroker, he ultimately returned to photography.
Many years later, David Yarrow established himself as a photographer by documenting the natural world, specifically wildlife, from new perspectives. Based in London, the artist frequently travels to far-flung locations featuring some of the world's most elusive animals and landscapes, from the Mustang Monument Ranch in Nevada to the Dinokeng Game Reserve in South Africa. He has built an unrivaled reputation for capturing the beauty of the planet’s remote landscapes, indigenous cultures, and endangered animals. As well, he is internationally recognized for his striking images of celebrities - ranging from sports stars to supermodels.
David’s evocative and immersive photography is most distinctive and has earned him an ever-growing following among art collectors. His large monochrome images made in Los Angeles are on display in leading galleries and museums across Europe and North America, and his work is a regular feature at established art fairs. David Yarrow has established himself as Europe’s best-selling wildlife photographer.
In North America, he is represented by two leading photographic galleries: Holden Luntz in Palm Beach and Izzy in Toronto, as well as broader art galleries such as Samuel Lynne in Dallas and Miller in Cincinnati. In Europe, David has a very strong presence in the Baltic – with Oslo, Antwerp, and Amsterdam as key venues. David’s most recent partners, Maddox, have been extremely popular in both London and Gstaad.
In 2022, Rizzoli published Yarrow's book "Storytelling," which features over 130 of his images taken since 2019, with a foreword written by American cultural icon Cindy Crawford. Moreover, he published "Wild Encounters" (2016), "Encounter" (2013), and "Nowhere" (2007).
David Yarrow has equally shown an unchanging commitment to charitable causes and protecting wildlife through fundraising for various NGOs and the British NHS. His evocative photography has inspired thousands to commit to social and environmental change. His charitable collaborations with Pamela Anderson, Cindy Crawford, and Cara Delevingne have helped him raise millions for philanthropic and conservation organizations, including the Kevin Richardson Foundation, the Tusk Trust, WildArk, and Earth Alliance.
