In The Pink, Gallery for Fine Photo Art, is delighted to announce its upcoming group exhibition, titled Splash of Pink, which explores the captivating varieties of the colour pink in photographs by artists Albarrán Cabrera, Albert Watson, David Yarrow, Derrick Ofosu Boateng, Philipp Keel, Rankin, Saidou Dicko, and Vee Speers.
For the first time, we are showing Robert Popper, a photographer based in the Algarve, and a work by fashion photography superstar Paolo Roversi.
For us, pink is not just a colour, it is a state of mind!
In the world of photography, the colour pink has played a fascinating and multifaceted role, serving as a powerful tool for evoking emotion, making statements, and capturing the essence of various subjects. Renowned photographers have all employed the colour pink in their works to create striking and memorable visual experiences.
In the hands of our accomplished photographers, the colour pink becomes a versatile and powerful tool, capable of conveying a wide range of emotions, stories, and messages. Whether it's used to celebrate culture, challenge norms, or create a sense of fantasy, pink's presence in photography is a testament to its enduring relevance and impact on visual storytelling. Pink is the colour of flowers, flamingos, sunsets and sunrises, femininity, sweetness, and dreams. Various aspects of that are explored in this exhibition.
This exhibition is also curated as an homage to the colour of our gallery’s building, a historic palacette which used to be known as the “Pink Building.” At the same time, it’s an informal expression to convey the idea that things are in the best of health and condition, the same way we feel about our life in the Algarve.
